VDO has manufactured many STYLES of automotive gauges and instruments. Within each STYLE many different TYPES of gauges have been made to monitor every type of vehicle function. This page is designed to help you identify VDO automotive gauges / instruments in existing applications; find replacements or chose instruments and supporting parts for new applications.

VDO Allentare Gauges

VDO CANcockpit Generation III Gauges

VDO CANcockpit GEN III is a flexible, intelligent instrumentation system designed to operate in a CAN environment. The system can process digital signals from two CAN bus inputs simultaneously, as well as data provided from analog sensors, such as fuel level senders. It can process data protocols from all of the leading engine manufacturers and can be easily configured to meet specific application needs.

CANcockpit GEN III is built around a master instrument, which can stand alone or be used to control up to 16 additional display instruments. In addition to monitoring speed or RPM, the master instrument can also handle 25 additional engine signals via an integrated LCD display.

VDO Gauge Kits & Clusters

VDO 356 Gauges

The new VDO 356 Replica Gauges are designed to match the style of a classic vehicle. Featuring a superb fit and finish, the gauges include a 120-MPH speedometer with a built-in LCD with odometer and trip odometer. A combination water temp and fuel gauge includes built-in tell tale indicators for battery, high beam and oil pressure. An 8000 RPM Tachometer rounds out the display and includes tell tale indicators for turn signals, parking brake and fog light. The gauges are offered in a standard 4” diameter.

VDO PRT Performance Tachometers

VDO PRT Performance Tachometers feature multiple configurations for 4, 6, and 8 cylinder engine applications. These rugged, 10,000 RPM tachs are available in a choice of white dial face with silver bezel or black onyx dial face with a black bezel.

VDO PRT Performance Tachometers are prewired and require only 4 wires for hook up. They feature an adjustable mount that allows for multiple mounting positions and angles. All VDO PRT tachs feature a resettable shift point and a built-in shift light indicator.

VDO Cockpit White Gauges

Cockpit White features clean European influenced styling along with VDO patented movements and legendary quality. Black graphics contrast with white dials, black bezels and computer balanced red pointers. Standard 0.25" spade connectors simplify wiring and VDO Spin-lok™ mounting makes installation fast and easy, while providing a full 360° degrees of mounting force.

VDO Camera Systems

Cockpit

The most popular of VDO instrument STYLES. There are more different "TYPES" of instruments in this line than any of the others.

• The bezels are "peaked black"
• Dial faces are "black with white lettering"
• The pointers are "fire red/orange"

All instruments are lit with light bulbs installed from the rear of the instrument and shining around the edge of the dialface. Edgelit lighting- light bulb is installed from rear of instrument and is reflected around the solid dialface to the light the dial and pointer.

• Connectors are 1/4 blade.

Cockpit International

Cockpit International is an expansion of the Cockpit Style and can be used in a panel with Cockpit Style.

• The bezels are "peaked black"
• Dial faces are "black with white lettering"
• The pointers are "fire red/orange"

All instruments are lit with light bulbs installed from the rear of the instrument and shining around the edge of the dialface. Edgelit lighting- light bulb is installed from rear of instrument and is reflected around the solid dialface to the light the dial and pointer.

• Connectors are 1/4 blade.
• "International Symbols" label each instrument and "metric scales" appear under the "US Scales".
• Connectors are studs with washers and nuts

Cockpit International is aimed at industrial applications that require "worldwide understanding" and it fits well with Cockpit in a panel.

Cockpit White & Chrome

Cockpit White & Chrome Series are the same as Cockpit White, but have

Cockpit Royale

Heritage Chrome Gauges

Heritage Chrome recalls the era of Spats and Zoot Suits! Black pointers and the antique font offset the parchment colored dials and polished chrome bezels, for the distinctive look found on early American cars. Behind each dial are modern VDO movements and technology. Standard 0.25" spade connectors simplify wiring and VDO Spin-lok™ mounting makes installation fast and easy while, providing a full 360° degrees of mounting force.

VDO Hourmeters

Our VDO hourmeter line has been expanded to offer hourmeters in many sizes, styles and configurations. We offer illuminated and non-illuminated models and recording hour ranges from 10,000 to 100,000 hours. VDO hourmeters are not resettable.

VDO Mini Pressure Gauges

1 1/2" direct mount pressure gauges feature standard 1/8"-27NPT thread connection, precision machined brass movements, built in restrictors and polished stainless steel housings. Compatible with all fuel management systems.

VDO Viewline Ivory

In creating the new VDO Viewline series, our engineers started with a clean sheet of paper to create an instrument line like no other in today's market. Fully sealed dual lens, lifetime LED lighting and warning indicators assure that Viewline can easily withstand even open cab environments. VDO patented stepper motors and resistive movements ensure accuracy, while testing to 25 G continuous vibration and 100 G shock assure long life reliability. IP67 water resistance means, that no matter how wet it gets, our gauges keep on working. Anti-corrosion materials mean no oxidation or rust will develop – Viewline will continue to work and look like new.

Viewline Ivory can be customized with your choice of 9 different bezels or be mounted from behind the dash to be flush. VDO Viewline Sterling

Viewline Sterling can be customized with your choice of six different bezels, or it can be mounted from behind to be flush with your dash or instrument panel. Our new wiring harness makes installation a simple “plug-n-play,” and like every VDO gauge, Viewline is built with our own, patented components to ensure rock solid reliability. Viewline features include integrated turn signals and warning lights, LED illumination and multifunction LCD displays, built-in LED warning lights, short circuit protection, IP67 water resistance and anti-corrosion materials.

Vision Black
